Home Front/Front Line was published in 2013 to mark the 10th anniversary of the Iraq war.

There will be information about the history of the building and Quakers in Edinburgh, craft activities for children, some research on Quaker conscientious objectors in WWI, and the white poppy wreath made by local Quakers as part of the collateral damage exhibition. Refreshments will be on offer.

Fiona Pearson was a senior curator there for 25 years, working in the fields of prints and drawing, painting, scripture and for 10 years was also the Paolozzi Curator. She grew up as a Quaker but left in 2005 doubtful of her pacifism and no longer certain that organised religion was the only way.
Our theatre space hosts drama, music, discussion and graphic art both serious and comic. Historical, political, social, personal issues are addressed. Our values of equality, peace, integrity and simplicity influence our theatre programme selection and the way we run the venue.
This will be a dissertation by Les Bremner, who intends to show that the roots of Christianity and Spiritualism are identical and that Atheism does not exist. If this is proven to our own satisfaction, our spirituality can be confidently enhanced. Les’ talk will be based on his forthcoming book, A Tapestry of Faith and Evidence – Christianity, Atheism, Spiritualism.
In this presentation, Gary Kidgell will outline the philosophical approach expounded by what is known as the ‘wisdom teachings’. He will demonstrate the value of this particular ‘model’ of creation, and of the human psyche, in relation to the process of spiritual transformation. This assists our understanding of what occurs in our consciousness when we are treading the ‘spiritual path’.
